Euromillions jackpot accumulates and reaches 217 million

After Friday's special draw, the 200 million jackpot was left without winners and it will be accumulated again for Tuesday's draw.

Just a few days ago we wondered in the last post what would happen if nobody won the special 200 million jackpot that Euromillions drew last Friday 1st December. And, in the end, that is exactly what happened, because, although the participation for the draw was much higher than usual, in the end none of the bets sold for the last draw managed to match the winning combination of 5 numbers and 2 stars: 4 - 10 - 14 - 38 - 50 and the stars 9 - 12.

There were however 6 bets in total that missed out on the mega jackpot, matching all 5 numbers, but only 1 of the 2 stars. These bets will have to settle for the second prize, which finally amounted to more than 1.5 million euros, so each of the 6 bets will keep one sixth of the prize, about 266,632.98 euros each.

Of these 6 bets, 2 are known to have been sold in France, 1 in Ireland, 1 in the UK and the remaining 2 in Spain.

However, the jackpot remains winless for the moment, although this is not necessarily bad news. As we explained in the last article, in the event that there were no winners from last Friday's draw, the special jackpot would not be lost, but would be accumulated again, exceeding 200 million in the next draw.

And with the high collection, the accumulated jackpot rose to 217 million euros for the draw on Tuesday 5 December which, like every draw, will take place at 21:00h (peninsular time).

This Tuesday's jackpot will be the 3rd largest in the history of Euromillions, ranking only below the current record jackpot of 230 million won in July 2022, and the previous record of 220 million won in October 2021. In fact, participation for the draw is so high that it would not be difficult to think that a second jackpot accumulation could even reach the current EuroMillions limit.

As a reminder, the current EuroMillions limit is set at 240 million euros. This figure was set after the €230 million draw in July 2022, when the limit grew by another €10 million to its current cap. Therefore, if there are no winners in the following draws, it would not take long for the new record to be reached.
