The "Jackpot" is the maximum prize that can be won in a drawing. It can be fixed or incremental, and it is obtained by winning the maximum prize category of the draw. The jackpot is usually distributed among the winners of that maximum category, although the organizer of the lottery can establish that the amount of the jackpot is independent for each one of the winners. The jackpot amount is usually several million (euros, dollars, etc.) and the jackpot is understood to be the approximate prize that would be received if there were only one winner in a given draw.
When are the jackpots available?
Que haya bote depende del tipo de sorteo y de cómo han transcurrido los sorteos anterior. En base a esto, podemos decir que hay dos tipos de botes:
Fixed jackpots: there are draws such as Euromillions that always have a minimum jackpot (17 million euros). Other draws establish a fixed prize to the winner, as in the case of Loteria Nacional
Incremental jackpots: these jackpots depend on there having been one or more draws without prizes, so the lottery organizer establishes when there will be a draw containing a jackpot
